Home of the AlpenSalz
Our precious Alpine salt was formed around 250 million years ago when the primordial sea evaporated. Since then, it has lain protected and untouched deep in the mountain rock. A true gift of nature! The origin of our diverse salt creations is pure Alpine brine.
You can find out exactly how the famous Bad Reichenhaller AlpenSalz is extracted from this salt water in the salt museum at the Old Salt Works. In the salt store at the Alte Saline Bad Reichenhall you will find an extensive range of salts, with and without added vitamins and trace elements, aromatic spice salts and other specialty salts.
